Life as a Big Brother

People have asked how Elijah is adjusting to being a big brother. Now that we have returned to some "normalcy" in our daily life, he seems to be adjusting well and he really likes his sisters. Everyday, he says "They're so cute....they're so tiny." Yesterday when Sophianne was crying in the car seat, he rocked the car seat back and forth trying to comfort her. Today, he said, "Mommy, she's not whining. I don't like it when she whines." :) He's still trying to figure out which girl is which...."Mommy, is this Rena? Sophianne?" We have been playing up the fact that he's a big boy and a big brother--that he gets to eat a chocolate chip cookie for dessert but his sisters have to settle for mommy's milk. I think he likes the fact that he's a big boy and a big brother rather than a baby. He has not shown signs of jealousy but he does at times seem to want us to carry, hold, or snuggle him like he sees us doing with his sisters.

Elijah, we're so glad that you're a BIG boy and a BIG brother!
