The Big Question

When will Rena and Sophianne come home? The answer: We do not know.

We learned that there are three big milestones that the girls need to cross before they are able to come home with us.

1. Feed successfully 8 times a day using the bottle (around 30 ml per feeding) and occasional nursing. They need to show that they can eat successfully and digest all their food well.

2. Regulate their own body temperature outside of the isolette. Currently, they are snug and warm inside the isolette which controls the temperature for them.

3. Show that they are able to gain weight on their own without the use of the intravenous tube which has been supplementing them with needed fat and vitamins.

They need to be completely off the IV and show that they can eat 8 times a day, regulate their body temperature, and gain steady weight. When they are able to do all three, then they will be ready to be discharged.

We are praying that they will be able to cross each important milestone so that they can be home with us soon and so that their big brother, Elijah can finally meet his baby sisters. You can pray specifically for these areas too.
